Aberdeen-based Escape Business Technologies, the energy-focused IT provider, has appointed former employee Graeme Gammie as Operations Director. Mr Gammie left Escape in 2004 to pursue his own IT business start-up which he successfully built over the past 7 years. He joins Escape at a time of growth both in Aberdeen but also overseas due to its oil and gas client-base. Escape has offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Caithness – its team of 35 engineers provide IT support for all sizes of businesses as well as offering IT consultancy and outsourced IT solutions. Commenting on his appointment, Mr Gammie said: “I am delighted to be joining Escape - although I enjoyed running my own business I am excited to be part of a large team that has diversified into all the areas of IT including software, product development and outsourcing. It feels good to be returning with a range of skills that I have developed over the years and I aim to use my technical expertise to add to the teams’ existing knowledge and skill-base.” Formed in 1999, Escape was founded by Mike Bain and Robin Parkinson. Escape Group is on target to turnover £3million in 2011. Mike Bain, director, said: “It is fantastic to have Graeme back on board and very timely with a specific requirement for a high level technical and operational appointment to support and lead our engineering team. We are also delighted to welcome senior engineer Rod Skea back to the team as well as welcoming new faces to assist with the growth of our business. “We have focused on the global oil industry and have also diversified into the construction, renewables and nuclear industry and continue to see an increase in firms looking for an outsourced IT function.” Escape Group employs 46 staff and has an ongoing recruitment campaign for engineers and managers in 2011. |
